Buy the Book
An assortment of books for research and pricing. The reference books available to the public are a good source to identify, attribute and to get a general idea of value. They can be purchased or are available at your library.
Book Values
A short overview. The coin and paper money market, on a wholesale level, is always in flux. Generally, the current year price guide went to press approximately four to six months before it 'hit the stand' and is generally an average of the previous three to six months. Thus, the book is probably out of date as far as exact pricing is concerned. Furthermore, there is the price a dealer will pay you and the price a dealer will sell you that same item. With the exception of a few publications, most price guides reflect the retail price of an item (the price a dealer would sell the item.)
